You can make Mum's day extra special by combining Getaway accommodation with a visit to the Peninsula Hot Springs - buy one pass and we'll throw in one for free! With award winning wineries, foodie destinations and renowned artisan markets you're spoilt for choice when it comes to spoiling mum this Mother's Day. Getaway's Melodie Stewart says Mother's Day on the Mornington Peninsula is all about reconnecting with family and of course indulging in all the wonderful food and wine the Peninsula has to offer. "Mother's Day on the Peninsula is all about food, wine, relaxation and more food," she said. "The Green Olive in Red Hill is wonderful - so that's certainly an option to take Mum somewhere special," she said. "Other wineries like Montalto, Port Philip Estate and my one of my favourites, T'Gallant all offer amazing food paired with equally impressive wines." As well as those wineries, Melodie is quick to point out that there are many other foodie destinations to explore. "There is just so much out there at the moment - you're really spoilt for choice," she said. "One little gem in Red Hill is Johnny Ripe - it's a bakery across the road from Red Hill primary school. "The food is magnificent - apple pies with pastry to die for and they do cronuts, croissants shaped like donuts, deep fried and dusted in sugar. They also make the most amazing savoury pies." Aside from all the foodie destinations, Melodie says the Peninsula Hot Springs are sure to please all weekenders heading to the Mornington Peninsula, especially Mum. "Peninsula Hot Springs is often booked out months in advance - that's one of the reasons our priority passes have been so popular. People are able to book their stay with us and we make sure they get a spot," she said. "The Hot Springs are amazing - I think some people expect it to be crowded when actually it's a really peaceful relaxed atmosphere. "It's just amazing in that you come away feeling clean and revitalised and your skin is just so soft and feels great." Another option for a day out on the Peninsula with Mum is hunting for unique artisan crafts at one of the Peninsula's regular markets. Melodie says the best markets offer a range of regional produce, fine wine, food, clothes and craft work. "All Mum's love a good market and on the Peninsula Balnarring, Red Hill and Mornington have some of the best on offer," she said. "At the markets it's all about handmade, hand crafted and hand baked - a real focus on artisan products - so that's a great option when you're out and about exploring the Peninsula. "Mother's Day is about reconnecting and sharing quality time together so there's plenty of options here on the Peninsula."
